Bakery Story
The Baker’s Room
The Baker’s Room is a family-owned business, tracing its roots back to 1983 when its founder started his apprenticeship as a baker and pastry chef.
In 2011, we sold our last location associated with the Bakers Delight Group. A year before, we embarked on our own bakery journey by opening Crust Bakery at The Fyshwick Markets in Canberra.
We bake fresh goods every morning and specialise in sourdough bread, pies, pastries, and coffee eventually selling in 2021 in preparation for our move to Hervey Bay.
In 2016, we opened our second location but wanted to provide a more unique experience to our customers. There, we incorporated cafe seating area and serve a range of sandwiches and gluten-free products.
We build our philosophy as an artisan bakery on our belief that fresh, quality food and a place to gather can bring a community together. The Baker’s Room situated in Urangan, in the historic Dayman St General Store building. Built in 1924, this heritage building has had many different uses over the year and with a complete renovation we hope it will once more become the local hub. And a great place to get your morning coffee & freshly baked bread.
